Men are of three types: the Wise, the Foolish, and the Wicked.
As for the Wise: Religion is his law, forbearance is his nature, and reflection is his disposition. If asked, he answers; if he speaks, he speaks the spot; if he hears, he understands; if he speaks, he is truthful; and if someone trusts him, he is trustworthy.
As for the Foolish: If he is alerted to something beautiful/good, he is heedless; if he is persuaded to leave something good, he yields; if he is incited to ignorance, he acts ignorantly; if he speaks, he lies; he does not understand, and even if one tries to teach him, he does not seek to understand.
As for the Wicked: If you entrust him, he betrays you; if you befriend him, he disgraces you; and if you trust him, he does not offer you sincere advice.
